What is photobiomodulation?

Photobiomodulation describes the use of low-intensity visible or near-infrared light to influence biological processes without relying on the tissue-heating mechanism used by some other energy-based technologies. The field includes many devices and research protocols; “red light therapy” is not a single standardized intervention.

Why do wavelength and dose matter?

Light is described by wavelength, usually measured in nanometers.
